Sandy Police Law Enforcement Explorer Post 9550

Last Thursday, the Sandy Police Explorers gathered to celebrate another incredible year at our 2025 Awards Banquet.

The evening was an opportunity to recognize the hard work, dedication, leadership, and countless volunteer hours our Explorers contributed throughout the year. We are proud of everything they have accomplished and grateful for the advisors, families, and community members who continue to support our program.

Last night our Explorers spent the evening working on building clearing techniques. They learned the basics of communication, movement, and teamwork while practicing how officers safely move through structures during searches and high-risk situations. Training nights like these give our Explorers valuable hands-on experience and a glimpse into the skills used in law enforcement every day.

Last week, the Sandy Explorers had the opportunity to learn some basic police tactics from our officers. During the training, Explorers learned ground fighting techniques.

Hands-on training like this helps Explorers build confidence, develop problem-solving skills, and gain a better understanding of the skills officers use to safely manage challenging situations.

A big thank you to the officers who volunteered their time and expertise to make this training possible!

Over the past year, Explorer Clark has dedicated countless hours to training, community service, and supporting the Sandy Police Department at a variety of events. Her commitment, positive attitude, and willingness to learn have made her a valued member of our team.

Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication over the last year. We look forward to seeing all that you accomplish in the years ahead. Congratulations on this milestone, Explorer Clark!

Congratulations to Explorer Murray on graduating today from Bingham High School.

After high school, her plan is to begin working in corrections or a related field while gaining experience and preparing for a future career in law enforcement. Once she turns 21, she plans to apply with several police departments, attend the police academy, and work toward becoming a police officer.

Explorer Murray has been working hard toward her goals, and we are excited to see her continue pursuing a career dedicated to serving others. We wish her the best as she starts this next chapter.
