beabadoobee’s most recent album ‘Beatopia’ has been a soft escape for me lately. as a fan of for awhile this project has her blossoming from bedroom pop roots to stardom. lyrically the album explores self-acceptance, bittersweet memories and the growing pains of young love. with a mix of more delicate acoustic songs and bright pop tracks you can put this album on a cloudy morning or even a sunny day.
favorite tracks: “talk” + “lovesong” + “10:36”

i saw live opening for spill tab back in september and they have been on my listening rotation since! the duo includes singer, India Shore and guitarist, Claire Altendahl. they have been making music since 2020 after a failed audition in college, but worked for the best for the duo since it led to the creation of boyish. the indie pop band has managed to stand out to me with their vocals and passionate lyrics. i can’t wait to see what the band has in store for the future projects! 💫
favorite tracks: “congratulations” + “you wanna hurt me” + “f**k you heather”

last year i added the song “too late now” by onto my december spiraling playlist. recently i've been on an intense wet leg kick with this song on repeat. i love that the dramatic exaggerations can ultimately be resolved by the lyric “i just need a bubble bath to set me on a higher path.” it’s a great reminder that sometimes you just need to run through every thought, feel your feelings, and then bring yourself back to reality, perhaps, via a bubble bath.
the british indie rock duo released their debut album earlier this spring and are currently touring the UK, so if you're able to catch a show soon, do it!
