“BURN THE LIE. BELIEVE THE WORD.”

Scripture:
“We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ.” - 2 Corinthians 10:5

“You are not your own; you were bought at a price.” – 1 Corinthians 6:19–20

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT:
Warrior—let’s get something straight:

You are not every thought you think.
You are not every feeling you feel.
You are not your past, your pain, your mirror, or your mistakes.

You are who God says you are.
And your feelings don’t get to override His truth.

The battle of identity is real.
We stare into mirrors, scroll through memories, replay wounds, and wonder:
Is this who I am?

But here’s the truth: That’s temptation. That’s spiritual warfare.

You are not defined by temptation—you are defined by redemption.

Temptation says: “You’re too broken.”
Jesus says: “I was broken for you.”

Temptation says: “You’ve lost too much.”
Jesus says: “I gave everything to call you mine.”

Temptation says: “You’ll never be enough.”
Jesus says: “It is finished.”

Some of you feel like your body is a curse.
Some of you feel like you’re too far gone to be fully restored.
Some of you have regrets tangled in past relationships.
Some of you are haunted by what you’ve done—or what was done to you.

But Giant Slayer—feelings are not Lord. Christ is.
He doesn’t ask for your emotions to lead you.
He asks for your surrender, your trust, and your willingness to believe what He says even when it doesn’t feel true.

You are a new creation—not just on your good days.

You are loved, set apart, and handcrafted with a purpose—even when it hurts.
You are not your worst moment.
You are not your insecurity.
You are not your shame.

CHALLENGE:
Today, take one thought—one feeling—that has been tormenting you.
Write it down. Name it.
Now ask: What does God say about this?
Replace the lie with the truth.
And don’t just read it—declare it.

Do this every time the feelings rise.
Because this is war—and renewing your mind is how you fight back.

PRAYER:
God, I’ve let my feelings sit on a throne that belongs to You.
I’ve believed lies about who I am.
But today—I take every thought captive.
I lay down shame, fear, regret, insecurity, bitterness.
You purchased me. You define me.
Teach me to walk in the truth—even when it hurts.
I belong to You. I was made for You.
And today—I live like it.

I’ve been meeting early in the morning with some brothers @ the Giant Slayer Academy. Prior to begining our workout, I was reading today’s verse on the U version Bible app and put together some thoughts to share with these men.

“What Giant Shall Defy?”

Scripture:
“Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.” – Psalm 42:11

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT:
Giant Slayers, we are not immune to battle fatigue. Even David—the man after God’s own heart—had moments where his soul felt crushed, his spirit heavy, and his mind torn in two. But in the face of discouragement, he didn’t retreat. He preached to his own soul.

“Put your hope in God.” That’s not a suggestion—it’s a war cry.

We draw our strength not from adrenaline, applause, or even discipline.
We draw it from the presence of the Living God.

David didn’t stand before Goliath because he had better weapons. He stood because he had deeper trust. He had been with God in the wilderness. He had worshipped in the waiting. He had trained in the shadows. So when the giant roared, David didn’t flinch.

He looked Goliath in the eye and said,
“Who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the Living God?” (1 Sam. 17:26)

Men—there are giants still mocking the people of God today: Fear. Depression. Anxiety. Shame. Lust. Doubt.

But we don’t run.
We rise.
We slay.

CHALLENGE:
Speak to your soul today.
If it’s downcast—lift it. If it’s distracted—focus it. If it’s afraid—fuel it with praise.

Before you fight the enemy outside, conquer the noise within. Put your hope in God—and go hard after Him.

PRAYER:
Lord, train my heart like You trained David’s. Make me bold not just in the gym, but in the unseen places. Remind me that no giant defies You and wins. I place my hope in You again today—and I rise to slay.

We were created in God’s image, and our purpose is to multiply that image here on earth by living out His love—loving God and loving people with all that we are.

Consider this, the Lord says,

“No one can truly love me unless they first see My love in you. You are the expression of My love.”

Too often, I’ve seen friends in the church spend their time pointing out what’s wrong in others' lives, telling people to "straighten up" and offering a list of reasons for their faults and instructions for fixing their mess. The focus shifts to blaming people for their struggles instead of giving them the one thing they need most— FIRST LOVE. 💕

We need to stop telling people they’re the reason for their mess and start giving them FIRST LOVE💕 so that God can have access to their hearts, dismantle the lies they believe, and bring them into true freedom.

The Holy Spirit whispers,
“People need to see who I am. It’s not about them changing first. They need to see who I am, to know who I am.”

And that’s where the believer in Christ comes in.

I have the incredible honor of revealing Jesus to a world that desperately needs to see Him. What a privilege that is!

Guess what honor you have too?
