A couple of smooth criminals hit the wrong note.

Last Friday, members of the North Directed Enforcement Team (DET) arrested an infamous social media couple after they allegedly found a purse at a local restaurant and chose to keep it rather than turn it in. What may have seemed like a lucky find quickly led to criminal charges and an arrest.

Finding lost property does not make it yours. If you find a purse, wallet, phone, or other valuable item:

• Turn it in to the business or property owner immediately. • If the owner cannot be located, contact local law enforcement. •Do not use, remove, or keep any contents. • Keeping or using lost property can lead to theft-related charges

Our deputies remain committed to protecting our community and holding individuals accountable when they choose dishonesty over doing the right thing.

A North Operations deputy is assigned to the Orange County Gang Reduction and Intervention Partnership (GRIP), a program dedicated to creating positive opportunities for youth and helping prevent gang involvement.

Kids teamed up with local law enforcement personnel who escorted them through Angel Stadium, watched batting practice, and participated in a Q&A session with Trent Rush and Jo Adell from the Los Angeles Angels. Programs like GRIP help guide youth away from gang involvement by building mentorships, strengthening community connections, and encouraging success in school and life.

GRIP operates in 62 schools countywide and continues to make a positive impact through partnerships between law enforcement, schools, probation, community organizations, and local businesses.
