For those of you that are new around here — hi, I’m Olivia 👋🏽 Founder of Creating 805.

I typically hop on here once a month to show my face, give a few fun facts, or talk about my current mindset. I’m using today’s intro to share a few changes you’ll be seeing around the Creating 805 community in 2023.

The biggest change — we’ve decided to take a break from our public speaker series. We’ll still have monthly in person gatherings in both SLO + SB Counties, and we’ll still have monthly (virtual) speaking events, they’ll just be open to our members.

This was a hard decision, but necessary. The reasoning behind it? Let me break it down:

Have you heard of the term “fail-fast”? Essentially, it’s recognizing the areas of business that aren’t working and immediately course correcting rather than continuing with a flawed process.

Our speaker series was by no means a failure, but in all honesty, I’m tired. These events, alongside our paid offerings, weren’t sustainable to put on monthly as a team of one. The direction I was headed towards was burnout, so I decided to “fail-fast.” After annual planning and looking at the year ahead, I recognized that focusing on our membership + community coaching program is what best supports Creating 805’s long term goals.
