Had this one on my mind this morning. So in spirit of the whole throwback Thursday theme…
I wrote this one 15 years ago. It’s called, “Something to Say.” This song and 10 others were on a record I wrote back in 2012 that debuted at number 1 on the Reggae . I just recently found that out, no kidding. Notice the acronym of the title (S.S.). It was meant to be a follow up to another song I wrote that bears the exact same acronym and the exact same chords. That song was called, “Set Sail” (S.S.). All these years later, disappearing, re-emerging, and starting all over again from scratch, is humbling, almost embarrassing, and mortifying at the same time. You just gotta understand that’s it’s never too late. No matter how overwhelming it may seem, if you want it, go after it. You just gotta show up and keep pushing. Day in. Day out. That’s all. One of these days someone higher up on that elusive food chain is gonna stumble across all of this stuff I’ve been putting out and kick themselves for not finding it sooner. Until then, ima just keep the head down and keep it moving. Dropped this one yesterday.
