Up next, we wanted to introduce you all to another homie of the spa, SF’s alexa of Texture Summit . This one has been a longtime coming, and after having spent countless dancefloor moments together, we’re honored to finally have Lex join us in the booth. A bit from her bio:

“With a background in design and roots in San Francisco’s DIY underground, Lexbeams approaches DJing with a love of collecting and an instinct for energy and mood. Led by taste, intuition, and a restless sense of curiosity, her relationship to music has always been shaped by discovery.

Her first real pull toward dance music started at a young age, when she got her hands on a family friend’s hefty CD collection filled with burned rave mixes. This sort of accidental archive opened the door to the world of dance music.

Equally at home at off-the-grid parties and intimate club nights, Lexbeams bring a sensitivity to space and intuition to her selections. Her sets often weave together sexy basslines, heady house, hazy dub-inflected textures, and left-field moments that reflect her eclectic ear. She values music that is in service to the party, tuned to the dancers, the hour, and the atmosphere taking shape.

Her sound balances deep grooves with moments of lift. Playful without losing depth, she is not afraid to test out an unexpected track in a small room or let a set move through different points of tension and release.”

Santa Cruz is losing a one-of-a-kind human this week. Insanely talented, deep thinking, deeper loving, annoyingly photogenic. This man has a work ethic like no other: undeniable to anyone who’s danced to the records he’s dug for or tasted the beers he’s made.

The dude can skate, surf, and dial in a ML-185 sequencer to create alien percussive textures like no other.

We found out that Andrew got a job offer from his dream brewery up in Portland a few weeks back. A while back, he was considering moving to use another brewery as a stepping stone to eventually land at this one. Instead, he was invited right to the top step. No surprise, really.

Tide Swing (and our entire Santa Cruz family) is absolutely gutted to lose you, but we can’t wait to see what’s in store for you up north. You’ll always be part of this thing, and can’t wait to see you grow even more as a brewer, artist, and cat-dad. Tide Swing forever 💙
