The Art in Public Places Program of New Mexico Arts and the Local Selection Committee (LSC) of the University of New Mexico (UNM) seek to commission an artist/artist team to create and install site-specific exterior public art for the Center for Collaborative Arts & Technology (CCAT) building at main campus in Albuquerque, NM. Something happened in 2013, again in 2018, and is now happening again! Axle's engine needs rebuilding. As before, we are asking for your support to defray this (unexpected) expense. And as before, we are offering swag for our donors. If you donate $100 or more, we will make for you a special limited edition Axle Contemporary 2026 Engine Rebuild t-shirt or fine art print.

Every contribution is an active investment in a cultural future that we are already building, with the many artists and organizations we work with.

After you make a donation, please send us a note. Do you want a print or a shirt? If a shirt, what size? And please also send us your mailing address, if you have not already done so. We can also arrange to meet or drop-off your swag if you are here in Santa Fe. We'll be printing soon.

Prints and shirts are available in limited quantities. We'll only print and distribute enough to fulfill as premium swag for donations we receive during this appeal. After that the value of these rare and ingenious artworks is sure to rise (but for now there is no commercial value so your donation is completely tax-deductible).

Fresh Coat Property Improvement Grant for Property Owners
The Fresh Coat Improvement Grant provides funding to help property owners refresh and improve building exteriors within designatedMetropolitan Redevelopment Areas in Albuquerque. The program supports exterior paint and mural projects that enhance the look of buildings, strengthen neighborhood pride, and help attract customers and foot traffic along key corridors.

Grant awards are based on the size of the building facade:
Small facades (400-3,000 sq. ft.): up to $3,000
Medium facades (3,000-6,4000 sq. ft.): up to $5,000
Large facades (6,400 sq. ft. and over): up to $10,000
