Concurrent with the XPRIZE ESG Summit last week, I also attended the FIRST Global Challenge at the Palexpo Center in Geneva. Students from 180+ countries competed / cooperated to complete a series of tasks with robots. The theme this year was climate change and carbon capture, using the robots to capture CO2 and sequester it.

I've been aware of (and a fan of) Dean Kamen's FIRST Robotics for years, yet it was SO IMPRESSIVE to see all these students from around the world coming together for good-spirited "co-operatition." My sincere thanks to Dean for the invitation and the opportunity to get on stage and help distribute the Rajaâ Cherkaoui El Moursli Award for Courageous Achievement to the student team from Ukraine, who practiced and trained while their homes, schools, and towns were being bombed.

At this point in my career (and life), I am selective with the projects and people I spend time with. This is especially true of programs I host, as so much of what's being produced these days offers minimal educational value and fails to inspire me. So it is with a mixture of excitement, humility, and downright enthusiasm that I share info about Students To Launch, a STEM education program that was officially announced earlier this week at Dreamforce in San Francisco.

I hope you'll take a minute to click through to the website and read the media release in the News section. It is a real privilege to host (and produce) this program and help students in under-served, under-represented communities discover a love for space and STEM. It is also an honor to work with my colleagues at NASA, AIAA, Griffin Communications, and OSU.
