Heather MacKean Iconography

In July, I drove to St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Portland, Oregon and painted two archangels on either side of the Theotokos. It is egg-tempera on canvas painted on location. The canvas had already been mounted and prepared years ago when I painted the Theotokos. The angels are about 6 feet tall. I painted the Theotokos at this church in the late 1990’s. It is always wonderful to be at this church. I love the people . They are like family to me.
