LACK OF FLAWS

pray for me.
not because i’m in trouble.
not because the sky is falling.
but because i’m me.

because i’m walking into rooms i never thought i’d be.
because i’m carrying people and dreams bigger than me.
because my moves require more than hustlin— I need coverin.

those prayers?
they came from everywhere—
grandmothers whispering my name before sunrise.
mothers who call just to say “i’m proud of you.”
friends who pray for me without me tellin em to.
Spouses and lovers, sisters and brothers who speak life
over me on the nights when i forget to.

truth is… i wouldn’t still be here without it.
not in this town. not in this business. not in this life.

prayers have caught me when i was falling.
prayers have cleared paths i couldn’t see.
prayers have kept my name safe in rooms my feet have yet to reach.

so yes—pray for me.
always.
not because the day is bleak.
but because i’m me.
and i need it.
we all do.
