Goldbeck Gundogs

A huge congratulations to English Cocker Spaniel "Valor" bred by Goldbeck Gundogs and trainer/owner Danny King who is doing a fabulous job with him! Valor was awarded his UKC "Started Hunting Retriever" (SHR) Title a few months ago at only a year old! A fantastic achievement for such a young pup. We are very excited about Valor's career as he continues to develop.

Again, as we noted in our post about Piper, this award involved a series of four challenging land and water based retrieves, with a full sized duck, and is geared toward larger dogs, such as Labrador Retrievers. Interestingly, Valor is a half brother to Piper. This just goes to show the incredible versatility of the English Cocker Spaniel pups bred from our UK Imports.

Valor is the son of Goldbeck Gundogs' UK Imports, Kerdat Martyn (half brother to both the 1st Place winner of the 2022 British National Cocker Spaniel Field Trial Champion and the 2nd place winner of the 2023 British National Cocker Championship) x Cleewold Damiana ("Bramble") (daughter of FTCh and 2019 UK National Championship Winner Kiltonbeck Rollo).

So now for some exciting news from Goldbeck Gundogs. As many of you know, Goldbeck Gundogs was founded by Ken Revell who had a vision to improve the English Cocker Spaniel breed in America by bringing the very best of the UK English Cocker Spaniel Bloodlines from the UK to the United States. Ken was widely respected as an outstanding pedigree expert and produced numerous YouTube videos under the Goldbeck Gundogs channel giving a glimpse into his methodology. As Ken announced many of his planned breeding pairs, the quality was obvious as the most predominant inquiries he received were from from those most familiar with quality pedigrees and breeding lines, including well known breeders and trainers throughout the country. Goldbeck Gundogs received rave reviews as to the quality of these pups once owners had trainers had experienced them first hand. A small sample of these from the year 2024 can be found on the testimonials page of the Goldbeck Gundogs website. It is a further testament to Ken's breeding lines that Goldbeck Gundogs has received so many repeat requests for pups from trainers and breeders who had directly experienced the quality of the Goldbeck pups.

In honor of Ken and his legacy, we are pleased to announce the first litter to arrive at Goldbeck Gundogs since Ken's passing. This pairing was hand-picked by Ken who personally traveled to the UK to purchase the dam as a pup and had been patiently waiting for her to come of age in order to produce the exceptional pairings that he had planned. Unfortunately, he did not live to witness this, but we are proud to announce the arrival of a litter of healthy pups pups from Omachie Beinn Deargh ("Billy") and Charmpark Maddie ("Cocoa"). We will be supplementing this post with more photos and information about the sire and dam (and pups) so please stay tuned. We have some exciting news to report here at Goldbeck Gundogs. But before we get to that, I wanted give a special thank-you to Phil Gray of Covey Flush Kennels and Steven Hutto of Steady Point Kennels. Phil dropped everything the moment he heard that Ken had been referred to hospice care, and rushed down to Florida to see him one last time. Phil was an absolute lifeline in helping us to make it through this time period, by taking three of our young pups (who he affectionately dubbed "The Velociraptors") and selling them for us when there was simply no way we could have handled them. Steve and Phil also worked together to give them top quality training so that they will be able to do what they love.

Finally, both Phil and Steve drove down to Florida to pay their respect to Ken at his memorial service which really meant a lot to me and the kids.
