Spring weddings have returned and generous families have donated hundreds of blooms for Flower Shuttle fans to arrange into small arrangements Today, we were spoiled with amazing hydrangeas. Last week, we had a rainbow of colorful roses. Thanks to all the members who show up early, bring greenery, set up tables, arrange flowers, cut oasis, make bows and handle so many tasks, then help clean up or deliver flowers. Let’s do it again next week!

Seagrove Garden Club members celebrated the South’s fabulous fall and winter bloomer, the camellia on Wednesday. Margaret Morrison, a Master Gardener, and board member of the Friends of Eden Gardens, shared the history of the arrival of the colorful plant to the U.S. along with its growing preferences to about four dozen club members at Pazzo Italiano restaurant. Morrison also explained how Eden Gardens State Park became a showplace for dozens of camellia varieties which are now blooming in countless shades of white, pink and red. The state park’s annual Camellia Festival and plant sale will take place Feb. 7.
