Проверка дома. Новый инспектор 🧐

🇺🇸Twenty years ago, I stepped onto American soil for the very first time.

I thought I knew America from the movies: New York, San Francisco, skyscrapers, bright lights, big cities. But the real America turned out to be something completely different.

America is its people.

It is the smile of a stranger in the South who says “welcome” in a way that makes you truly feel accepted.

It is the roads where, one day, you find yourself driving with confidence — even if you were once afraid to drive at all.

It is a country built around people: clear rules, good service, parking lots, schools, libraries, parks, stores, well-kept neighborhoods, and homes where people care not only about what is inside, but also about what their neighbors see.

America is a country where an immigrant can arrive with an accent, a different culture, fears, hopes, and a suitcase full of dreams — and still build a new life.

America did not just give me the opportunity to dream. It gave me the opportunity to pursue my dreams with dignity — through hard work, responsibility, and faith in myself.

When you are born in the former Soviet Union, in a completely different system of values, you come to understand freedom in a much deeper way. Not as a beautiful word, but as a daily reality.

Freedom of thought. Freedom of faith. Freedom of choice. The freedom to speak, to work, to create, to build your life — and to dream bigger than you were ever allowed to dream before.

Here, I earned my second degree. Here, I became a U.S. citizen. And in many ways, I was born a second time — through my children, who were born here in America as U.S. citizens, and for whom this country has been home from their very first day.

Some people say America has no culture. But all it takes is a visit to The Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation near Detroit — to see the history of invention, industry, scientific progress, Thomas Edison, automobiles, ideas, and the people who moved the world forward — and you understand: America has a great culture of its own.

It is simply different.

It is a culture of freedom, hard work, innovation, movement, and belief in human potential.

America was built by immigrants. But the greatness of this country is that people did not just bring their languages, traditions, and stories here. They became part of one great American story.

For me, being a U.S. citizen is not just about having a passport. It is about feeling responsibility for the country where my children are growing up. It is about respecting its laws, its culture, its values, and the people who paid a high price so that America could remain free.

True patriotism is not born from slogans. It is born when you connect with a country in your heart, embrace its values, and want to help build its future — for yourself, for your children, and for the generations to come.

America is not perfect. It has challenges, debates, pain, and different points of view. But that is also its strength: so many different states, different people, different stories — and still one nation that continues to find the strength to stand.

I am grateful to God for these 20 years in the United States.

For the chance to begin again.
For freedom.
For people.
For opportunities.
For a country I was able not only to discover, but to truly love.

I am proud to be an American.

Happy Birthday, America.

Happy 250th Birthday. 🇺🇸

I believe your best days are still ahead.
