She came in earlier this week with 7.5/10 constant pain, with VERY limited range of shoulder motion. 0 in ER and extension, less than 45 in flex and abd. Imagine you play pickleball and swim and not being able to move your arm. Sounds miserable.

At the first visit we did some GENTLE upper back and shoulder mobilizations and soft tissue work, 5 min or red/infrared light, applied dynamic tape, and went over a few exercises to do at home if the pain went down.

At home she was able to the exercises pain-free and did even more passive ROM work.

Before the second visit ROM: flex and abd ~90, ext and ER ~30. And not much pain.

After the second visit ROM: flex ~170 and abd ~115, ext and ER ~45.

She has a pickleball tournament next week, and we are feeling much more optimistic about it!

Based on everyone’s interest, I’ll be adding in Compression Therapy as a new service!

Story time on why I like it for athletes and those training for strenuous activity.

In 2021 I put my name in the raffle for Half Dome. While waiting for the results, I signed up for a sprint tri. Results came in, one of the dates I selected was chosen, it sounded familiar…it was 2 days before my race. And if you have done either Half Dome or a sprint tri, you know how taxing they are, not to mention back to back.

So I brought the boots to Yosemite, used them right after and when we got home the next day. I was telling myself: the swim will be fine, the bike I’ll just use to shake out, and the run I’ll just play by ear. My calves were the main area giving me the most difficulty.

Come race day, the swim was great, bike felt much better than expected, and the run felt pretty darn good. And I got 2nd in my age group, which qualified me for Nationals.

This is how it worked for me. How will it work for you?!
