A large outbuilding burned to the ground this evening behind a local business in West Santa Rosa. The smoke column and glow were visible for more then a mile and a half prompting a large response from Santa Rosa Firefighters Local 1401, Sonoma County Fire District, and Graton Fire Department. Firefighters quickly brought the fire under control limiting damage to the building of origin.

The burned 137 acres today outside the Lake County community of Hidden Valley Lake. Started by a vehicle rollover, the fire quickly spread to both sides of Highway 29 burning at a dangerous rate of spread prompting a large response from both Cal Fire and local government resources. A heavy ground and air assault kept the fire from burning any of the 50 plus structures in its path.

The burned nearly 50 acres off of Todd Road in western Santa Rosa today becoming the largest fire in the county this year. Over 100 firefighters from around the county worked to bring the fire under control. Units were still on scene at around 10:30 this evening ensuring nothing flared up.
