Abner Doble

Five of my cars were accumulated by Stan Lucas. When he passed, they were not running anymore they were auctioned. Now they are being put back in order. Some of the engineering drawings exist but most of the material which Besler kept were donated to the Bancroft Library and then consigned to a dumpster. All the best to the restorers.

My brother Warren was kindly asked by Karl Petersen to review and edit Doble Steam Cars by John Walton. Then Walton published a new edition with the corrections.
Most of what people know of my life, though, is through newspaper ads about how great my cars were and newspaper articles about the business difficulties I continually experienced.
