These are the remaining files for Nor Cal Pom Rescue. I've been going through and shredding files that are no longer needed. It has been 6 years since I closed the rescue and left California. Each file represents a life saved. It is so emotional for me to think about all these dogs and cats. The pile on the floor is just the cats who came through as "Friends of the Pomeranians". I had the opportunity to take in the cats once I bought Homegrown Pet Supply. After leaving California I was on the road for 5 years in my motorhome just traveling around the country. In March of 2023 I arrived in northwest South Carolina and decided to settle here. I bought half an acre and put a house on it. Now I'm finally going through things and purging. Some of the adopters are friends on Facebook, others have kept in touch. Most of the adopted animals I know nothing more about them. I only hope the right choice was made for every one of them. I still follow many rescues in California and wish I could go get so many of the dogs in need. Especially the seniors. I've been helping a local rescue with transportation when needed. Once I get my yard fenced I'll foster. I love it here and just want to keep helping the dogs in whatever way possible.

Sweet and frightened Luna was found under a shed with her puppies. They are all raised and adopted but she is still very scared. She will eventually come out of her shell with just the right person. But for now she is just like a ghost, hiding in her kennel and not making a peep. She is not in the slightest aggressive and has never even growled. She is just so inside herself from lack of socialization and her own fear of people that she shies away from even the slightest touch. That is beginning to change and she will continue to blossom with her own family.
When my pack run out the door she’s right there with them! She comes back in on her own too and goes directly back into her crate. She’s been living with my other rescue and personal dogs of various ages, most around her size or smaller. She has had some disputes with older females but does great around males. I believe she can do well with larger dogs too if properly introduced.
We know this is really a mercy mission since she’s not the cute puppy people love to adopt or the fun ready for anything adult dog either. She needs to be someone’s project in the most compassionate sense of the word. She really needs a home where she is allowed to exist but also where someone is willing to challenge and encourage-push her out of her shell.
Any home considered for her must have a yard and possibly one other dog to act as both a buffer and conduit to her. You need to have a completely secure yard and agree never to leave her out on her own. She will dig out. She should be part of the family with her crate in the active part of the home. She’ll sleep in her crate quietly at night and run out with the other dog(s) in the morning. Luna is definatly an easy keeper. Not picky with food and very healthy!
She is now making contact with me when she comes out of her crate in the morning and allowing me to pet her. She is food motivated and will eat out of my hand and other peoples too if they are calm and patient. I have been bringing her to my pet store where she’s meeting more people daily. She is getting twice daily walks from a volunteer and is very playful and more relaxed out on the leash. She’s initiating play with the volunteers’ dog too. She needs to continue getting frequent walks out and strong, positive encouragement to continue growing! Please consider giving this girl a real life.
Luna is only about 15-20 pounds and very young, probably only 1 or 2 years old. She has her whole life ahead of her! Won’t you help her make it a good one?
