Thanks, in part, to the voices of our CA supporters, we had a major victory last month with the passage of AB-2316, the California School Food Safety Act, a first-in-the-nation bill that bans toxic food dyes from school meals in the state. Now, we have the opportunity to do that AND MORE for the entire country.

The Safe School Meals Act of 2024, S.5084, introduced by Sen. Cory Booker is legislation that benefits not just kids, but ALL Americans. The bill, if enacted into law, would effectively ban heavy metals, synthetic food dyes, and glyphosate, paraquat, and organophosphate pesticide residues in school meals; ban PFAS forever chemicals, phthalates, lead, and bisphenols in school food packaging, and support organic agriculture.

Currently, over 40% of America’s children suffer from chronic illness. That’s not a statistic we can live with. Increasing evidence connects the increasing disease to diet. We can help to reverse this heartbreaking trend with S.5084.
