We had the honor of filming something truly rare: the very first Yak-54 ever built — serial number #0001. This Russian-designed aerobatic plane was the prototype, the original, and the first of its kind.

There’s surprisingly little documentation out there on this remarkable aircraft. That’s why, for me and my dad, this project means more than just capturing footage. It’s about preserving a piece of aviation history.

Tony holds the original documentation for the plane, and together we’re working to make that information publicly accessible for the broader aviation community. The goal: ensure this one-of-a-kind aircraft isn’t lost to time, but shared, studied, and celebrated.
