The Army ROTC program at Savannah State University is partnered with Georgia Southern University for all Mitary Science requirements.

Congratulations to rising junior, Army ROTC Cadet Kayla Chance on becoming a paratrooper in Airborne School located at Fort Benning. Chance was the only cadet chosen from 30 candidates among three universities.
The three-week course teaches soldiers the techniques involved in parachuting from airplanes and landing safely. The final test includes a non-assisted jump.
Pictured is Cadet Chance after her first of five jumps from a C-130 military aircraft. Kayla is majoring homeland security & emergency management. She is also a member of the SSU track & field team and the Georgia National Guard.

The Savannah State University Army ROTC program is partnered with Georgia Southern University Army ROTC. The headquarters is based out of Statesboro and the Savannah area has two locations: Savannah State University and the Georgia Southern Armstrong Campus.
Classes are held at all locations. Freshman and sophomore students at SSU attend classes inside Tiger Arena in the ROTC classroom. Junior and senior students attend ROTC classes at the Armstong Campus inside the Sports Center, along with junior and senior students from the Armstong Campus.
Upon graduation from Savannah State University, ROTC cadets will commission as a Second Lieutenant in the Active Army, the National Guard, or the Army Reserve.
