Curious about a career that helps build a cleaner future? β‘ Our PCC colleagues are running Discover Clean Technology, a free on-ramp class that helps you explore trade careers in fleet and facilities maintenance and map out your next step.
Over a single afternoon, you'll learn about PCC degrees and certificates (anywhere from 3 months to 2 years) in automotive service, diesel service, HVAC/facilities maintenance, and the pre-trades, plus meet local employers, take field trips, and get hands-on help with the free admissions process and funding like the SHIFT scholarship. Every class is offered at no cost to participants.
A few upcoming sessions: July 9 at Willow Creek (HVAC and Pre-Trades focus), July 28 virtual (Automotive and Diesel), and August 19 at the 42nd Avenue Opportunity Center.
If you or someone you know is ready to explore, sign up or learn more here: https://www.pcc.edu/opportunity-center/jobs/discover-clean-technology/

Want a career where you actually make the things that build our world? βοΈ PCC's Machine Manufacturing Technology program trains you to turn blueprints into precision parts using lathes, mills, grinders, and CNC machines, the same skills high-tech manufacturers are hungry for right now.
The Oregon Employment Department forecasts that machinist employment in the Portland area will grow 10.9% through 2027, and Portland-area machinists earn between $18.77 and $38.14 an hour. Courses are self-paced and modular, so you can build your own schedule (days or evenings) and learn at your own speed. Graduates have gone on to work with names like Leatherman, Leupold & Stevens, Oregon Tool, and Freightliner.
Whether you're after a two-year associate degree, a one-year CNC certificate, or a fast career-pathway credential, there's a route that fits. Explore the program and take the next step here: https://www.pcc.edu/programs/machine-manufacturing/
