In 1973, our family purchased Home Style Pizza off Upper Union Street in Niskayuna, right on the border of Schenectady. It was the beginning of the second leg of Upper Union Streets' anchor business, the first being Gershons Deli. We were kindred in spirit, and we always had a deep respect for their business, and our families maintained the best professional and personal relationship possible . Anthony Licata was born in the sone small town in Sicily as our family and was very much admired and respected by our fathers for his work ethic and family values.
It is with great sadness to see this fabled business close. We wish the absolute best to Toni and her family.
