CASTING CALL for Classic Theater Guild: A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM

Trouble brews in an ancient forest, but it’s nothing a few fairies can’t make worse.

Come be part of the Bard’s immortal, hilarious comedy about heartbreak and humiliation.

Auditions will be held on November 11th , 13th, and 15 th 6-8 at Congregation Beth Israel. 2195 Eastern Parkway, Niskayuna.
Show dates are Jan 22, 24, 25, 29, 31 and Feb 1

DRAMATIS PERSONAE

Demetrius – 20s or 30s, male presenting. A military man with some strong ideas.

Lysander – 20s or 30s, male presenting. A fighter with a romantic soul.

Hermia – 20s or 30s, female presenting. A short woman with a temper.

Helena – 20s or 30s, female presenting. A tall woman with a deep heart and poor

social skills.

Bottom – Any adult age, male presenting. A community theater type who is too

full of himself.

Peter Quince – Any adult age, male presenting. A theater director who does his

best.

Flute, Snout, Snug, Starveling – Any adult age, any gender. Members of Peter

Quince’s troupe. They do their best as well, on the whole.

Oberon – 14-18, male presenting. King of the Fairies, with a mean streak.

Titania – 12-16, female presenting. Queen of the Fairies. Regal.

Puck – 10-14, male presenting. Oberon’s right hand man. Likes taking jokes too

far.

Peaseblossom, Cobweb, Mote – 8-12, female presenting. Fairies in Titania’s

entourage.

Theseus – 40+, male presenting. Duke of Athens.

Hyppolyta – 30+, female presenting. Warrioress, betrothed to Theseus.

Egeus – 50+, male presenting. Hermia’s father. Not a man to argue wit
