Meet the Music Directors of 'Hallock at 100'!
DR. JASON ANDERSON:
A man of diverse musical interests and talents, Dr. Anderson has served as Associate for Liturgical Arts and Youth Formation and Organist/Choirmaster at Saint Michael’s since October 2002. He was named Director of the famed Compline Choir at Saint Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral in Seattle, Washington in July 2009. He currently serves as Director of the Peter R. Hallock Institute and as Vocal Faculty Coordinator and Faculty Manager for Midsummer Musical Retreat.
Jason is equally at home on the stage and in church as a performer, singer, conductor, organist, liturgist and composer. He hails from Franklin, Indiana, and is a graduate of Butler University, Portland State University, and the University of Washington. Dr. Anderson’s dissertation “The Life and Works of Peter R. Hallock (b. 1924)” was completed in June 2007.
MARKDAVIN OBENZA is a choral director and recording producer. He is also the director of Seattle-based choral ensemble Radiance and the choir director at Trinity Parish Church in Seattle, WA. As the creative director and producer for digital media production company Scribe Studios, Markdavin has produced recordings for over 50 artists, of which several have been reviewed internationally in Gramophone, Early Music America, Early Music Review, and Fanfare, and featured in films. Markdavin has also produced and directed a number of choral films which have been featured in Modern Choral Masterworks, broadcast by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, and for the Library of Congress American Folklife Center.
Join us for Hallock at 100 this weekend February 24th at 7:30 pm and February 25th at 3pm at St. Mark's Cathedral.
