Becoming a PADI Rescue Diver involves an investment in oneself and an expansion of one’s comfort zone. Through the experience you will learn to be aware of yourself, the environment, and another diver. You learn to be prepared for, prevent, and respond to diver emergencies. We call it the most rewarding class, because it provides divers with confidence and comfort in their future dives. Divers can find out what their strengths and weaknesses are in an emergency and develop strategies to contribute to emergency situations and respond with CPR, First Aid, AED and Emergency Oxygen use. This past weekend these three divers finished their performance requirements and many already certified PADI Rescue Divers got to review the program to keep their skills sharp. Thanks to everyone who attended this past week and weekend, it feels great to have more PADI Rescue divers in the world.

We had a great dive at Edmonds Underwater Park this beautiful, snowy, rainy, then Sunny Sunday. Calypso Edmonds is earned after an hour long dive.

Congratulations to the students from the PADI Rescue Diver class this past weekend! They each demonstrated great tenacity and courage as they developed their above and below the water skills and embraced the challenges of the rescue scenarios. We are proud of each of you for reaching this level of achievement as a diver and look forward to your future endeavors. If you are interested in learning about the PADI Rescue Diver Certification, let us know.
Alki Cove 2, West Seattle, Washington is where so many people learn to scuba dive and dive for fun. Beautiful sunrises and seal sightings are what great you in the morning. When lunchtime rolls around, the smells of food wander over during your surface interval. Be sure to get to Marination Ma Kai before 2:00pm for their brunch menu items. The benedict burrito is our favorite.
In the evenings on night dives, we’ve been seeing squid, octopus, and all sorts of fish and crab. Afterwards, we’ll go to Matador for their late night happy hour that begins at 10:00pm. We highly recommend the quesadillas and nachos. This area provides a lot for divers to enjoy at all times of the day.
