Asking locals throughout Scandinavia to explain what the word Hygge meant to them was in short, beautiful. The looks always got dreamy, usually a smile. I could see snapshots of childhood nostalgia in their eyes. My favorite explanation of the cozy word was, "If contrasts had a feeling". A hygglig home in winter is its own thing. Chilly mornings with a hot cup of coffee by the fire, a view of a dark starry night outside of your candlelit living room, a rowdy game night with friends as silent snow falls, a warm bath with a cold beer listening to Christmas songs.. just me?
