With Her presents a collection of reduction linoleum and woodcut prints that honor influential women in my life. Rather than literal likenesses, these works use shape and environment to capture the essence of their subjects. By reducing form to individual essentials, the collection “iconizes” these women, bridging the gap between personal tribute and universal storytelling.

Each print is part of a variable edition, utilizing a single matrix to experiment with how color dictates temperament, perception, and atmosphere. This series is part of a larger 2026 project exploring the intersection of memory, gender, and the printmaking process.

Sandra (S.E.) Penney specializes in reduction and relief printmaking, as well as monoprints and monotypes. She currently teaches printmaking at the Kirkland Arts Center in Kirkland, WA.
