The FDA approved foundayo, 💊 a new weight loss pill medication from Eli Lilly. Average weight loss was about 12% after 72 weeks on the medication.

This could be a great option for patients starting new medication or for maintenance and switching off of injectables.

💵The cost will also be lower than injectable medication starting at about $150 per month.

While I still advocate that we demand more people have access and coverage through their health insurance plans for medical necessary treatment, it is notable that we have more options than ever before for patients to get care for their metabolic health.

I was honored to be an invited speaker this year at The Washington Obesity Society conference for a talk on how to prescribe obesity medicines, 💊💉 and get to share real world practical tips.

💕 Always good to catch up with my like-minded colleagues for a day of learning, and to talk about what we’re dealing with in practice, and what’s coming down the line for treatment advancement.

Got to do my inbody scan, which reminds me I need to get my DEXA updated. 😊💪

No one is actually watching out for you in the healthcare system, and there’s a psychological reason why. 👇

It’s called the bystander effect. The more people involved, the less any one person feels responsible. Sound familiar?

Care coordinators. Covering providers. Portal messages to whoever’s on call. It looks thorough. But when responsibility is spread across everyone, it really belongs to no one.

I spent years inside large medical centers and studying exactly this. And it’s what led me to build a completely different kind of practice.

Small panel. Unhurried appointments. One physician, with deep expertise in internal medicine and metabolic health, who actually knows your story.

Because your health deserves more than a checked box.

Daylight saving time means we’re springing forward into movement this weekend.

Join us for Walk with a Doc this Sunday morning:
📍 Alki Beach, meet near the Statue of Liberty
📅 Sunday, March 8
⏰ 9:30 AM

We’ll have a brief conversation about heart health and cardiorespiratory fitness, then enjoy a relaxed walk along the waterfront together.

Cardiorespiratory fitness is one of the strongest predictors of long-term health and longevity, and it naturally declines about 10% per decade after age 30 unless we stay active. Even simple movement like walking can make a meaningful difference.

All ages and fitness levels welcome.

No rsvp needed, just show up!
Bring a friend and enjoy a beautiful morning at the beach.

You don’t need to train for a marathon...🏃‍♀️

But as you age, you do need enough fitness to:• Climb stairs without stopping• Carry groceries uphill• Walk briskly without feeling winded

That level of effort is about 5 METs, and is the threshold associated with maintaining independent living in older adults.
VO₂ max declines 7–10% per decade after age 30 if we don’t actively train it.

Doing nothing isn’t neutral.

At Deeds Health, we talk with patients about finding ways to optimize health that feel easy, not exhausting.

Longevity health is metabolic health. It is fitness and nutrition. 🏋️🥕🍓
