Only 1 in 5 U.S. adult women meets recommended weekly physical activity guidelines.
We talk a lot about getting girls into sports. We talk a lot about pro leagues finally getting their flowers. But there’s a huge group in between that gets overlooked: adult women, ages 18 to 81, who still want sport in their lives but don’t always know where to find it.
Play Gap is a Cleveland nonprofit built for that gap.
They don’t run leagues. They vet and connect existing ones, looking at accessibility, inclusion, and culture so women know what they’re walking into.
And so far they have made quite the impact…
40+ partner orgs. Nearly 5,000 women reached. 7,000+ volunteer hours. Still 100% volunteer-run.
⚽️🏀 Follow . And If you know a woman who’s been quietly missing the team she used to play on, send this her way.
Here is something I believe that does not get said enough in the organizing software space:
The administrative chaos is not just a time problem. It is a belonging problem.
When the tools are fragmented, the experience of joining a community feels fragmented. People fall through cracks. Payments get awkward. Someone shows up to the wrong location because the announcement went out in three different places.
And the organizer, the person who built all of this, ends up feeling like they are failing their community even when they are working harder than anyone.
Gametime Hero was built from the belief that organizers who feel supported build communities where people feel they belong.
We are not just in the business of logistics. We are in the business of belonging.

Field trip! Our intern, Ainsley, and her and crew was at this weekend. Great food, golden hour, future organizers around the table, and a room that puts women’s games on the main screen.
This is what belonging looks like. Shout out to for building a space where women’s sports get the seat at the bar they’ve always deserved.

Anyone can build a scheduling app.
What they cannot build in a weekend is years of learning what organizers actually need. The moment a payment fails at midnight before a tournament. The no-show that tanks a session. The organizer who almost quit because the admin got heavier than the joy.
Gametime Hero was built by people who have run leagues, organized communities, and felt it all firsthand.
That is not a feature. That is the foundation.
If you are building something real for your community, we would love to be the platform behind it.
