Daedalus Aerospace is pleased to announce a new training course: "Electromagnetic Compatibility and Interference for Flight Test"!

Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) flight testing is often misunderstood in what role flight test plays, as well as other's role in demonstrating the ‘absence of interference’. This often causes expensive and unnecessary testing.

This course is targeted to both flight test pilots and engineers involved in the certification of aircraft avionics and electrical systems, and teaches aircraft electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing from the perspective of flight test for airworthiness certification. The course brings a physics-based approach to EMI; starting with first principles of source, path, and victim, and explaining how conducted, radiated, and inductively coupled modes of interference can be understood. The material includes professional flight test techniques to identify and isolate EMI sources and victims, guidance in developing appropriate and efficient test plans, and an example of a Starlink antenna STC.
