Join Rabbi Jesse at Temple Beth Am tomorrow night for an adults-only (21+) evening of poetry related to autumn, self-reflection, new beginnings, and all things Elul. As we read through and ponder our selected poems for the evening, we’ll be enjoying a curated set of craft hard cider and mead, a deliciously fermented twist on the classic “apples and honey.” Just as apples and honey are meant to usher in a sweet new year, this gathering will be a chance to lift a glass, say l’chaim, and taste the blessings of renewal together.

Join us on Sunday, July 27, for an event that’s off to the races! The Beth Am Brotherhood is heading to Emerald Downs for an afternoon of horsepower, high stakes, and holy insights. We’ll meet in the Temple Beth Am parking lot at 12:30 PM to carpool together because nothing says “community” like piling into a minivan with snacks and siddurim.
Between races, we’ll take a short breather from betting on horses to bet on some Torah wisdom yes, even at the racetrack, we find meaning in the Mishnah. Spoiler alert: the Torah doesn’t mention exacta boxes, but there’s still plenty to learn.
Whether you’re there for the horses, the learning, or just to say “neigh” to staying home, you won’t want to miss it. Saddle up and we’ll see you at the starting gate!
