Arts Education Month celebrates the many benefits of arts learning in the
lives of students, educators, and families across Washington state!

What's your reason for celebrating this month?
1. Arts learning plays a critical role in students' sense of belonging and well-being.
2. Arts education supports academic achievement, interdisciplinary thinking
and access to creative career opportunities.
3. The arts help students preserve, celebrate and share cultural practices.
4. The law recognizes the arts as a core academic subject within basic education including dance, media arts, music, theatre, and visual arts.

Thank you to all the PreK-12 teachers, teaching artists, families, culture bearers, and the community members who make arts education possible!
