Imagine the shock on the World Cup visitors' faces when they see "CAFE" on the front of the building but espresso is nowhere to be found. 😬

Right outside The 5 Point sits one of Seattle’s oldest pieces of public art - the Chief Seattle statue at Tilikum Place. Installed in 1912, the statue was built to honor Chief Seattle, the leader the city was named after, and to symbolize friendship and welcome in early Seattle.
Over the last 100+ years, both the statue and the park around it have been rebuilt, restored, debated over, cleaned up, redesigned, and protected by generations of Seattleites who wanted to preserve this little piece of the city’s history. From the Denny Regrade era to the World’s Fair years, Tilikum Place has quietly stayed part of Seattle’s story while the city changed around it.
Now it sits right outside our doors - still watching over Belltown while burgers, beers, breakfasts and late nights carry on beside it every day. Next time you stop by, take a second to appreciate a piece of old Seattle still standing strong 🍻
