Cascade Playground

Our Story

The programming and activation in Cascade Playground is organized through a Parks Department grant with partners in the community. A Friends of Cascade Playground Committee is made up of Cascade and South Lake Union neighbors, small business owners, non-profits, and community leaders. All programming in the park is free to the public, and encourages access to the outdoors, fostering community building and engagement through free activities, with a focus on increased access to art, music, culture, youth and family activities, health and fitness, sustainability and community building.

While all classes, events and equipment are free to the public, we are fortunate to be able to pay instructors, artists, performers, and other vendors through our grant funding and private donations. Vendors who are Minority and Women Owned Businesses are encouraged to contact us with a proposal to provide services in Cascade Playground.
