Sensitive Dog
Julie Forbes and Darcie Boltz guide clients toward clear communication, stable leadership, and a foundation of trust for a thriving human-canine relationship.
Winnie made a decisive choice when choosing her Coaching Program graduation present out of our toy basket. (And then we exchanged it for one with more of a “crinkle” feature and bigger ears after hearing how much she loves that!) She’s a girl who knows what she likes. 😊
🥳❤️🎉Great job, Winnie! 🎉❤️🥳Congratulations on your graduation!
✨ Every dog is a teacher✨ Sweet Halsey reminds us that physical pain can influence behavior in dogs in many of the same ways it does in humans. This is one of the reasons we encourage our clients to work closely with our veterinarians when pain or discomfort is suspected. In some instances, we work in collaboration with veterinarians to help sort things out. We’re thankful that so many treatment options and modalities are available to help dogs in pain.
Addressing pain alongside constructive behavioral strategies and meaningful mental outlets like nose work helps us support the WHOLE dog.
Halsey and her parents have been through a lot together and we know there are brighter days ahead. ✨

✨Every dog is a teacher✨ Weezie reminds us that dogs change us. Research shows that even brief eye contact with a canine companion can shift biology in humans. Cortisol, the primary stress hormone, begins to drop. Oxytocin, the bonding hormone, rises. Dopamine and serotonin increase, supporting mood and emotional regulation. Heart rate slows. Blood pressure can come down. Your nervous system quite literally shifts toward calm and connection.
We marvel at the mutual benefits of this interspecies bond. And honestly… just look at Weezie…. 🫠
She is one year old, and like many dogs, life didn’t unfold in a perfect timeline. One of her parents was navigating illness during her puppyhood, so training understandably took a back seat. This has made things a bit challenging but it certainly doesn’t define her future.
Dogs are incredibly adaptable when given clear guidance, structure, and relationship. It is never too late to start. 🥰🐶
