My current illustration project, a children's book written by .l.williams titled My Window. This has been months of work, and I'm so excited to see it finally coming together ♥︎

For those who are curious about how I work: I am an extremely messy sketcher! After many, many general layout sketches, I move on to messy pencil sketches of the final vision. I pick the final lines and ink them on my light table on tracing paper. Those then get transferred to bristol board where they get inked with a dip pen before I go in with watercolors (that's a whole process of its own). Finally, everything gets scanned and placed into the page templates with the book's text (which thankfully I have already laid out), and then compiled into a single image! Illustration (at least the way I do it) is a lot of fun and very time consuming. Everyone has their own methods of bringing stories to life; this one's mine ♥︎

Why am I talking about process? I think it's important in the age of AI to show how much thought and care goes into the finished products of real artwork made by real creators. The world is full of artists, illustrators, graphic designers, and creators of all kinds, go find one you love and support their work! ♥︎
