Just a quick note that The Fish Store will be closing at 5pm today for the Memorial Day holiday, as we do every year. We will resume our normal business hours when we reopen on Thursday morning at 11am. We hope you have a good day.
Has anyone else ever managed to create a standing wave in their aquarium? A standing wave is defined as a type of wave where the amplitude (crest and trough) do not appear to move laterally. This one is caused by the resonance of two wave makers oscillating in opposite directions. It’s a fun effect to see when you can match the wavelength and the frequency to your tank length.

We have a nice batch of locally bred L-397 Alenquer tiger plecos and a good sized school of mixed color, long-fin Ancistrus. These are all good sized and well priced. Neither reach more than about 3-4 inches and can do well in a 20 gallon tank. Small ones can work in a 10, but will need to be relocated eventually.
