At Bridge, everything we do is rooted in helping children feel safe…some for the very first time in their lives.

Safe to stop holding their breath…

Safe to stop waiting for
something bad to happen…

Safe to make mistakes without fear…to be silly…to try something new…

Safe to finally begin to discover just who they are underneath all the survival skills they have had to use simply to make it through the trauma of daily life.

Above all else…a child has to feel safe if they are ever going to begin the task of healing.

Thank you for helping children feel safe each and every day at Bridge Receiving Center💝

A day on the farm turned out to have something for everyone.

S had been begging to go visit a local farm with West Highland Cattle who were quite happy to be petted or even snuggled with. S loves animals!

J, on the other hand, wasn’t into animals…she prefers something with a screen and was quite reluctant to leave the house for a day away from her tablet.

But J ended up enjoying herself so much didn’t want to leave!

For J, the day held good lessons in boundaries and consent for her when petting the cows.

During the outing, J said she loves living at Bridge and spending time with our staff.

In fact, every day she’s been with us, J will say, “This is the best day ever”.

Making dreams come true and helping children discover there is more to the world than they ever thought possible…

It’s all part of the Bridge Difference!

And for S it truly was…snuggling West Highland Cattle was a dream come true.
