We hit the South Terminal at Vancouver Airport at 5am for the charter flight and helicopter to the lodge. By five pm we’re back at Queen Charlotte Lodge with our catch and it’s time for a beverage and dinner!

There’s more than one way to target halibut in the Sound and Straits. If anchoring or jigging isn’t your game then roll larger herring around likely structure off the Downrigger. Trolling is a great heavy current option as well. Keep your descending device handy as you’ll likely encounter rockfish as well.
