Grateful for the freedoms that come with small businesses ownership... like being able to give time, energy, and service to cultivate the world I want our children to grow old in. Letting collaboration, creativity, community, celebration be the way…inviting more and more folks to the table, with oodles of care, expansion, rest and reflection along the way. Lean in, friends…together we’ll get through.

Reflecting on Event Fresh Showcase: Intentionality, Community, Connection + Joy 01/16/2025

My last post was the day after Event Fresh where Synchronicity Events, Functions and Gatherings and a whole beautiful host of other event pros came together for a party, a celebration of community, collaboration, and intentionalism for the live event industry... because that's gonna be the medicine. Moving through this world with folks that get the magic - is worthy of a party. We invited our clients, our communities, our industry peers, our squads... and it was so good. Incredibly grateful to be in service with so many phenoms in Seattle. Here's our recap: https://diwasphotography.com/reflecting-on-event-fresh-showcase-intentionality-community-connection-joy/

And... I'm not sure about the how/where we're going to be showing up online. However - join our email list to stay in touch- monthly musings, postcards if you share your address...we won't mine or sell your stuff, promise. Check out these incredible businesses - non-exhaustive, but some won't tag. And a special thank you to Coach Crispin Spaeth for sharing space with us and amplifying our message.

So stoked for our third Event Fresh (Seattle) Tuesday, December 3 at Washington Hall. This was a beautiful concept initiated years ago and has been evolving into a more consistent & magical event with the curation & expertise of the fabulous event pros Alex of Synchronicity Events+ Taylor of Functions and Gatherings. The vision: design a vendor showcase of woman, BIPOC + LBGTQIA owned event pros that bring their ALL to the table for a beautiful, memorable & seamless event full of FRESH ideas…The purpose: twofold. invite our clients + co-conspiritors + our folks we want to work with to a party to experience what an event can look like with an incredible cast of players. AND to amplify diverse vendors representing their ethos + identity for a night of networking, community + camaraderie. It’s going to be cup-filling… community centric … joyful… magical and of course, gorgeous.

Join us-especially if you’re in the event world, looking to get married, work in a non profit, or if you do vendor curation for a corporate entity. Just RSVP & come give me & Diwas a hug hello.

We LOVE being able to photograph events that create positive impacts, especially those rooted in social change. Events that contribute to social justice, educating folks on the systems of oppression, and then introduce avenues for sustainable change. It's an incredible gift to be able to capture the energy around these events, and help the orgs we do convey the love, support, and impacts they make. For instance - invited the phenomenal Journalist and Author, to speak about implications of caste for our nation, our local community, and reminded us of our personal responsibilities to tending to the historical wounds. This event was facilitated by very own , and augmented by @ of .co A major metaphor related to housing equity + the critical restorative work we must do as a nation, was when buying an old house, we must tend to/restore all the neglect, and the cracks in foundations... We may not have been responsible in the making of them, but we are the stewards of the old house now, and it's our responsibility to offer repair and restoration. The event closed with a communal chorus of This Little Light of Mine. The energy was magic, the impact... almost to great to measure just yet. Thank you, Homestead, for including us in capturing the energy while telling the story of your mission through our lens.
