The children are the future.
Root their māna in the ways of old.
So when the world around them changes…
Their māna remains steadfast and strong.

A little snippet of our Tanoa teine (girls)!!! They were excited to share the sit down rhythm dance, “The Sasa” (literal meaning to slap) from the island of Samoa! It was their first time performing last week! They were a little nervous, but now that those first show jitters are out of the way, these young teine are ready to keep working so that they can continue to deepen their love of our music, dance and stories of the islands and share their culture!!! We are so proud of them and can’t wait to see them continue to grow and blossom into the island beauties that they are! 🌺🏝️❤️ Great job girls!
Tanoa Drummers made their debut this weekend at the BIPOC market hosted by Annie Wright Schools! It was a beautiful day to bring the songs, sounds and māna of the South Pacific to the PacNW!!! We had a blast!!! And thank you to our dear friends Niko and Joaquin for joining us!!!
