Brethren,
In Loving Memory of Hans U. Wehl February 17, 1938 – August 23, 2025
Hans U. Wehl, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and pillar of his community, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. Born on February 17, 1938, Hans immigrated to the United States in 1948 and made Seattle, Washington his lifelong home.
A proud graduate of Garfield High School, Class of 1958, Hans carried his Seattle roots into every chapter of his life. He began his professional journey with I. Lochman and Sons as a sales representative, eventually rising to become a regional vice president for The Longines-Wittnauer Watch Company—a career that reflected his precision, integrity, and timeless charm.
Hans was deeply committed to service and tradition. He was a past master of the Elliott Bay Masonic Lodge and a longtime member of St. John’s Lodge #9 in Seattle. His dedication to craftsmanship and education led him to serve on the board of directors for the North Seattle Community College School of Watchmaking, where he helped shape future generations of artisans.
In 1961, Hans married the love of his life, Sharon Ruth Polishuk. Together they built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unwavering support. Hans was a devoted member of Temple B’nai Torah in Bellevue, Washington, where his faith and values found a spiritual home.
He is survived by his beloved wife Sharon Wehl; his three children: Randy Wehl, Ken Wehl and Robin Wehl Martin and their spouses Nicole Wehl and Robin’s husband Clay Martin; and eight adoring grandchildren: Foster, Max, Hannah, Cara, Jenna, George, Goldie, and Milo. His legacy lives on in their hearts and in the countless lives he touched through his generosity and wisdom.
Hans was also active in the City of Hope, a cause close to his heart. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to The City of Hope in Duarte, California, in his memory.
Hans Wehl lived a life of purpose, grace, and quiet strength. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
