This week, the board met for its mid year retreat.
During our day together, our team did an exercise called Mindtime, a test each of us took to show us how we each think, process and decide so we can work better and more successfully as a board.
My results? I am an integrated thinker, mainly thinking and processing in the present.
“What stands out most about your thinking style is your capacity to hold multiple moving parts in clear view while maintaining forward momentum. You bring a steady, organizing intelligence to complex situations - not through rigid planning, but through an intuitive sense of what’s workable, what’s next, and what needs attention now. People around you likely experience this as a form of reliable clarity: you see the practical path through without oversimplifying the complexity involved.”
It was fascinating and I agreed with quite a bit of it. And I started thinking about how my whole life I’ve always been a doer, an executer, the person who got things done for my family, when I was working as writer in a team, when I eventually led as an editor, and now as a business owner.
It is validating to know that all the things that matter to me (in myself, and in others) have shaped me into who I am today. How being reliable, trustworthy, pragmatic, grounded have somehow become the drivers of how I live my life - and live my work. As a photographer, I am grateful for these attributes. The work is fun and dynamic, but I needed to make it make sense for my family and myself.
Pragmatic AF, as I’d announced dramatically to our Mindtime instructor Julie Sanders, when she’d asked what I thought about my results.
Well, here we are.
Hello, I’m Jenn.
I’m here to make things happen.
Get the job done - and done well.
Nice to meet you 🤗.

I get asked this a lot: What’s your favorite venue?
My answer: Your backyard.
Granted, backyard weddings can turn out to be way more expensive and for sure a lot more work, but I sure do love them because they’re always more intimate, more unique and chiefly, I’ve not shot there - and will probably never do it again. Has a kind of finality to it I like.
I’m going to be showing a few we’ve shot over the years. Enjoy A&S’s truly memorable and personal Buddhist ceremony wedding.
My fave part? The grilled cheese sandwich buffet! It was DIVINE!

Missing today. Those quiet mid afternoon treks through all the neverending ever climbing cobbled streets looking for helados or street tamales or just a hidden taqueria somewhere run by an abuelita seated just around the corner. You know it’s 💯 gonna be 🔥.
