A few of my favorite things…. I composed and performed this as a medical student at UC Irvine in 1994 during our annual “talent” show. Ran across the lyrics cleaning my office yesterday and thought I’d bring it back to life with the help of AI.
Spotted a new animal emerging from my Owl’s Nest (or shall I call it the “Bat Cave”?) 2:30 am last night! Anyone know what’s going on here? Is this a young bat? It seems to move clumsily. If so, mom is nowhere to be seen.
Bearded Seal - known for its striking thick white whiskers. In many arctic regions such as Svalbard the ocean floor sediment contains iron rich compounds which stick to the facial fur of these seals when they forage and then oxidize when they surface creating a rich rusty red color.
