The first 7.5-ton container of radioactive waste turned into a stable glass form was carefully set on the bottom of a vast new landfill at Hanford in Eastern Washington Wednesday, its permanent disposal site. Tri-City Herald

According to Washington Department of Ecology - Hanford, "Nearly 70,000 gallons of tank waste have now been turned into glass, filling 47 containers as production ramps up at the Waste Treatment Plant."
