That's what spring looked like for these two.
A decade of choosing each other. This isn't ten years of comfortable. This is ten years of still choosing each other every single day โ€” and every frame screamed it.
And yet here it is โ€” undeniable in every frame.

This is the kind of love I'll never stop photographing.

Six weeks left. One body. One season you'll never have again.
The window for maternity photos is shorter than most mamas realize โ€” usually weeks 30 to 36, when the bump is full but you still feel like you.
If you've been quietly thinking about it, this is your sign.
A few maternity slots are opening for the coming months at some of the most beautiful spots in the Pacific Northwest โ€” Discovery Park, the Bellevue Botanical Garden, Mercer Slough, or somewhere quiet and personal to you.
Soft light. No stiff posing. Just you, your bump, and the people who love you both already.

The light was already starting to go when they ran toward the water.

You could feel the whole evening sigh โ€” the way PNW evenings do, when the sun finally agrees to set over the Sound and the sky goes soft like it knows something is happening. Caps still in their hands. Sleeves rolled. Faces flushed from the cold.

I kept thinking about how long this moment had been coming. The 6 a.m. mornings. The late-night drives home. The texts that probably started with "I can't do this" and ended with "okay, we're going." Every quiet thing nobody saw โ€” it brought them here.

Then one of them threw her cap so high it caught the last of the gold light. And that was it. That was the whole story.

To these two โ€” you didn't just earn this chapter. You wrote every page of it. And I'm so proud I got to be standing there when the next one began.

"Told her to pick anywhere. She picked a hangar full of jets."

Some babies get a nursery reveal. This one got a runway. โœˆ๏ธ
There's something wildly poetic about celebrating a new life surrounded by machines built to chase the sky. Decades of aviation history standing tall around her โ€” a Concorde here, a Boeing legend there โ€” and right in the center of it all, a mama glowing with the most anticipated little co-pilot of all time.
She didn't want soft fields or golden hour florals. She wanted movement. Energy. Stories of distance and discovery. And honestly? It might be the most fitting backdrop I've ever shot a maternity session in.
Because this baby? Already lucky. Already loved. Already cleared for takeoff into a life full of adventure, big skies, and parents who'll show her the whole world is her to explore.
Buckle up, little one. Mama's been getting you ready for this journey from day one. ๐Ÿค
Destination: arrivals terminal, very soon. โœˆ๏ธ

These are my favorite kind of evenings. PNW light. A little human who doesn't need direction โ€” just to be herself.

The last quiet weeks of being two, before becoming three.
There's a kind of magic in this chapter that's almost impossible to hold onto โ€” when you're carrying everything you've ever hoped for, but the world hasn't met them yet.
It's so easy to rush through. The tired, the glowing, the anxious, the awe โ€” sometimes all in the same hour.
Maternity photos aren't about looking your best. They're about remembering who you were right before. The waiting. The wondering. The whole little universe you were holding.

"I'm really awkward in photos."
โ€” every senior, ever. Including this one.
Here's what actually happens at a Lens of Monali senior session: we don't pose. We walk. We let the Pacific Northwest do the heavy lifting โ€” driftwood, salt air, that grey-blue light only the PNW knows how to make.
She came in nervous. She left a sand baby. Knees in the sand, hair in the wind, that quiet half-smile that only shows up when a girl finally trusts the camera.

We took her senior portraits down to the coast โ€” where the wind did exactly what it was supposed to, and the light caught every reason her family is so proud.
This isn't just a graduation. It's a girl walking into her next chapter knowing exactly who she is โ€” and who's behind her. A mom who watched every late-night study session. Siblings who already know she'll go further than any of us can picture.
To the Class of 2026: this season moves fast. The cap, the gown, the diploma โ€” and then it's already over.
Don't let the photos be an afterthought.
