Congratulations to our Danforth alumna Pamela Washington (Danforth Principal Preparation Program, D30) who has co-authored a book with Danforth advocate, Emilie Hard and colleague, Alyson Lamont. Their book, Reading to Belong: Identity, Perspective and Advocacy in Elementary Grades, aims to equip educators with tools to facilitate critical conversations with students — to question what they read, consume and hear. The book bridges the gap between research and practice by sharing snapshots of conversations happening in real classrooms. Washington currently serves as an elementary principal, where she provides instructional leadership.

Congratulations to our D35 Masters in Education students, William English, Julia Frances, Yusra Obaid, John Michael Wheatley, and Dr. Nathaniel Hoston (D35) who also earned his PhD in SPED and to all of our many UW College of Education graduates honored in last night's ceremony. Dr. Kelly Aramaki, incoming Bellevue School District Superintendent, Danforth 15 and Leadership for Learning alumnus served as the keynote speaker and shared his story filled with heart, family and vision of the future. What a remarkable evening!

Congratulations to the leaders of Danforth 35 who graduated this past weekend! You have brought the fire and on behalf of all of your instructors, advocates and program partners, we wish you well in your future equity-driven, learning focused, highly collaborative endeavors.
