When Edge made his WWF television debut on June 22, 1998, the future Hall of Famer accidentally injured Jose Estrada Jr. during a terrifying spot.

EDGE’S WWE DEBUT TURNED INTO A NIGHTMARE

Early in the match, Edge hit a somersault senton over the top rope, but his leg landed awkwardly on Estrada’s head and neck.

Estrada was left motionless on the floor, and referee Tim White immediately realized something was wrong. The match ended with an unplanned countout victory as Estrada was taken away on a stretcher.

Thankfully, the injury wasn’t career-ending, and Estrada eventually returned to the ring later that year.

Meanwhile, WWE never blamed Edge for the accident, and the “Rated-R Superstar” went on to become one of the most decorated performers in company history.

Ironically, years later, Edge himself would battle severe neck injuries that nearly ended his career for good.
