UPDATE 4/7/16: FOSTER HOME FOUND

Old Dog Haven has been asked by Lucky Paws Rescue to share their plea for Roxy. Can you help get the word out about her? Roxy has endured so much, she needs a HOME!

SPECIAL SITUATION: Lucky Paws Rescue is trying to help Roxy, an 8-year-old girl about 45 pounds who has been in a shelter since November, after she was found alone on an island in the Columbia River. She is a shelter favorite and loves to play Frisbee and walks, car rides and snuggle time.

There is suspicion she could have mammary cancer, but good hope that it might be benign. Lucky Paws has a veterinary oncologist in Olympia, WA who has offered to do the diagnostics. Lucky Paws is looking for a foster home along the I-5 corridor within Lewis, Thurston, Pierce counties or surrounding areas. The shelter simply is not equipped to provide more medical care or testing for Roxy, but they are advocating for this special girl to have the chance she deserves. A quiet home without any other pets would be best, as Roxy loves to chase kitties, and she can be very selective about other dogs, especially females. Older kids would be fine.
